  • Rugby RCC win the interclub event with a record aggregate time, although Velo still lead 4-3 in the competition.Go to Interclub 2008 for details.
  • Elda Tobin unexpectedly passed away on Monday 23rd June. Condolences from all at Rugby RCC and our thoughts are with the Tobin family who have been so supportive of the club for many years.
  • Marina Bloom's breaks the ladies' club 100 mile record at the BDCA event, taking 7 minutes off Emily Ducker's time set in the same event last year.
  • New - Impsport launch their new service where you can order Rugby RCC clothing direct from their website - but you will need a password. Go to our Impsport Direct page for more information.
  • By popular request the results of the 2006 & 2007 events have been put back on the website. These can be accessed through the Club TTs page.
  • Please note that if you ride a 25 and 50 on a K course (ie Midlands) and then do a 100 ANYWHERE you will qualify for the midlands BAR. See the Midlands District CTT website for the form.
  • Last season, in response to requests from some riders to see their club handicaps before the event we placed them on our website. We'll try this again, so let us know if you think this is a good idea, or if you'd sooner not know!
  • Please note there was a minor error in the newsletter sent out recently - the event on 23 July is a 25-mile, not a 10 as shown. Of course, the sharp-eyed will already have noticed the course ref K10/25A gave it away! Click here for the list.

  • Our AGM was held on Monday 18th February. Go to Committee page to see if you can spot the differences.
  • For 2008 membership remains at £10 (£5 unwaged). Due to the CTT increasing their levy to £1 per ride the committee have agreed that on-the-night club time trials will cost £1.50 per ride (£2 for private trials & £1 for U-18s) and 15p for refreshments. If you want to pay for the season up front the time trials will cost £30 plus £3 for refreshments. That means one cheque for £43 will take care of the season. However, we will charge separately for the inter-club and the 4-Hour events.

  • Our 2008 Open 10 will be on August 2nd.

Other News.......

  • Please note the timekeepers' appeal to riders to shout your number as you cross the finish line. And many thanks - more riders are remembering to do this.
  • A win for Rugby RCC in the inter-club Eddie Brodest trophy competition, but Velo are still 4-2 up in the series. Go to Interclub to see the story to date or to Interclub 2007 to see the latest results.
  • Another club record for Emily Ducker as she takes 13 minutes out of the Women's 100 mile time with a 4-34-49. In the same event Marina Bloom recorded 4-28-37, but Emily's time is the one that counts as Marina was competing for Walsall RCC's Women's team.
  • Emily Ducker breaks the Club Women's 10 mile record with a 23-15 on the E2 in Cambridgeshire

Diary Dates

  • Next club event - Wednesday 9th July at 7.00 pm - 25 mile TT on the new Princethorpe course, the K10/25B. Note that signing-on will at the top of caravan hill.
  • Next Committee meeting is Monday 14th July 2008.
  • Rugby RCC Open 10 - Saturday 2nd August 2008
