Rugby RCC Presentation Evening 2014
The Mayor of Rugby, Cllr Tony Gillias, was the guest of honour at Rugby Racing Cycling Club's annual presentation evening held Friday 17th January at the Railway Club. Highlight of the evening was an auction conducted by the Mayor to raise funds for his prostate cancer charity. On offer was a framed jersey won by Chris Hoy when winning the World Chamionship individual sprint event at the Manchester Velodrome. Bidding started at a modest £200, then climbed steadily until the jersey was finally secured by a prominent club member with a bid of £760. The Mayor went on to present the club awards for the 2013 season.
