Results for 28th May 2008 - Course: K11/10T Thurlaston

The conditions were somewhat damp for this debut of our new course and there was even a discussion as to whether it should go ahead as there was standing water in some areas. After a few teething troubles, such as the exact location of the start and finish, a field of 20 brave riders came to the start as the rain gradually eased. It was a welcome return for James Heaton who finished almost half a minute ahead of second placed Dave Overton, just ahead of Colin Stiles who always struggles with vision in the rain. It was an impressive ride by new member Phil Byrne, but it was a disaster for Tony Johnson who continued on the A45 beyond the Ryton turn, looking for an extra roundabout! Ian Usher, beginning to capture his form of a couple of years ago, took the handicap.
